No one can compare the products that hen offer.
Believe you me hen will never disappoint you. I really can't waste time to tell you how hen industry made me here.
After high school my mother was not in a opposition to take me to college. I had to understand the whole situation and abide by it. One day my biological father who had divorced my mother paid us a visit. Since he had the love for eggs I was sent for them. To my surprise I had to walk up and down the streets to look where I can find them.
By the end of the day I came home empty handed! The reason is simple, no one was supplying eggs in our town and we retailers, shopkeepers had to place an order from a neighboring town. I had to buy an alternative food.
I remember vividly that night I never slept well and if I did it was because I thought s lot. We were not in good terms with papa. The following day I talked with mum and told him I had an idea. She was ready to here it. I shared with him the idea to start poultry farming. She was amazed with this. She had a doubt but finally she gave me hand to go on with my idea.
Now in almost every project one engages in there is a big problem. Obviously capital is a challenge. My mother was very humble with me and had trust in me. She took the risk to get a loan from a financial money lending institution. It was not a wrong idea but my worry was how to pay the debt. Will the project yield fruits?
Immediately I starting to build a small house where I will keep the hens. After it was over I started to search for chicks of the correct standard. I had to travel miles since back home there was no hens rared there.
I bought five chicks each a month old. I also bought chick mash for their feeds. After the third month one of the chick died due to lack of vaccine. I took the remaining four to be vaccined. Back home my puppy launched on one and killed it. I was discouraged and nearly killed the puppy. I had to take an extra caution in handling the chicks.
Six months later,my project was in another level. My hens were now mature. They consisted of a cock and two hens. After some few days of their blablabla they started laying eggs. In fact they did it we'll. Each hen gave a minimum of twenty eggs. As they say,'don't count chicks before the eggs are hatched.' After twenty one days the eggs had been hatched all of them except a few.
Now the work had been doubled up. My concentration now increased. By the end of twelve months, the was the third generation of chicks. To be more serious I added more chicks in the second year. Now I had more than thirty hens and fifty chicks. I devoted myself and worked tirelessly.
Mummy was by my side and helped me to manage my project. I shared my project to my pals. They suggested we form a partnership. This'd was a great idea too. We joined and teamed up a partnership comprising of five people,my mother included. The other three bought five lawyers each of them five hens. We went to the government and shared our idea. The government assisted us financially.
We ventured in real work in that second year. Yes there was plenty of eggs to sell but wee had to plan first the production of eggs to be continuous to avoid a set back.
The third year was our year to shine!!!!!!
Thanks to the ready market that was still waiting for our eggs.
We started supplying eggs in each and every corner of our town.
To date we have 10 year experience in the market.
There is more money in hens.
Am a second year in university and I pay my tution fees and take cases of my lovely mother.
We are proud to be in in this business.
